About me

 My photography is my passion.

I am a self-taught photographer influenced by sixteenth and seventeenth century Dutch painters use of natural light.  I am captivated by Albert Bierstadt’s paintings of sweeping landscapes.  I am mesmerized by Ansel Adams use of dramatic contrast in his black and white photographs.  I am awe-struck by the painterly quality of the images Jim Westphalen creates.  His stunning photographs exhibit his attention to details and the subtle shifts in color. (Jim is a local Vermont photographer)

I am especially drawn to capturing images of mountains and lakes as well as abandoned buildings, old barns and wooden boats.  I particularly like using weather as an element of composition.

My goal is to use my vision and these influences to create images that reminds us of special places and moments.  I would like the viewer to see something of themselves in my images.  I want my images to provide a space for viewers to hear their own stories.
